[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This Sunday, September 26, 2021, RCMP Veterans across Canada will join our colleagues in the law enforcement community marking the 44th Annual Canadian Police and Peace Officer Memorial as we remember our valiant Fallen who died in the line of duty serving and protecting Canadians.
We mourn the tragic loss this past year of OPP Cst. Marc Hovingh, Sgt. Andrew Harnett, Calgary Police Service; Cst. Jeffrey Northrop, Toronto Police Service; and RCMP Cst. Shelby Patton.
Our hearts are with their families and their loved ones for whom their absence is most painful. We choose to remember these officers as they lived, though we’ll never forget how they died. Their sacrifice will find their names chiselled on sacred stones upon which hundreds of names sadly precede them.
On behalf of the members of the RCMP Veterans’ Association, I extend our deepest sympathies to the families and colleagues and profound respect for the memory of these officers.
We will remember them.
