“La Division Dépôt se définit comme un endroit où les traditions sont respectées depuis longtemps et où la discipline est rigide. La salle de garde du bâtiment administratif abrite une cellule de détention spartiate et rudimentaire. Avec une certaine régularité, elle est occupée par une recrue, en charge, ou en attente de renvoi de la Force. Le prisonnier porte toujours un treillis brun et est conduit à ses repas par une escorte en uniforme de travail. Pendant ces escortes, le prisonnier est à la vue de tout le personnel du “Dépôt”. La honte est palpable. Cet endroit appelé “Dépôt” n’est pas un endroit tendre. Il façonnera ou brisera sa population de recrues sans regret ni compassion. C’est une institution qui a un but précis et ceux qui ont la responsabilité de son fonctionnement savent très bien ce qui attend ces jeunes hommes dans le monde plus vaste de l’application de la loi. Ils doivent être prêts.

“Depot” defines itself as a place of long held, honoured traditions and rigid discipline. There is a spartan-like, bare bones holding cell located in the Administration building’s guard room. With some regularity it is occupied by a recruit, under charge, or awaiting dismissal from the Force. The prisoner always dons brown fatigues and is marched to his meals by an escort in full working uniform. During these escorts, the prisoner is in full view to all “Depot” personnel. The shame is palpable. This place called “Depot” is not a soft place. It will shape or break its population of recruits without regret or compassion. It is an institution of purpose and those who have the responsibility for its operation know full well what waits in the larger world of law enforcement for these young men. They must be ready.

The Art of Remembrance
Reminiscence therapy (RT) is also known as life review therapy. It is often used to treat severe memory loss or dementia. RT works by encouraging people to revisit moments from their past. It is a form of talk therapy. RT may use props or sensory stimulation to spark memories. Smells and sounds from a person’s past are some examples.
