Remembered with respect and gratitude for his service.
Luc Charlebois, aged 71, entered the heavenly gates on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Albert House in Moncton, NB, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Ottawa, ON, Luc made New Brunswick his home for the past 50 years, where he built a life grounded in service, family, and community.
Luc shared a longstanding bond with Monique Charlebois, with whom he cherished many meaningful years and memories.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Renée Sprague (Ryan), Cory Charlebois (Jesse), Mélanie Charlebois, Danielle Charlebois, and Michelle Duncan (Andrew), who brought him immense pride and joy.
Luc held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren, Mitchell Sprague and Keenan Charlebois, for his sister, Lucie Biesenthal, for his sister-in-law, Dorothy, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Carmen Gauthier, and his brother, Claude “Joe” Charlebois.
Luc served with distinction in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for 31 years, attaining the rank of Corporal. Known for his expertise and calm leadership, he was a skilled sharpshooter, Tactical Troop Trainer, Crime Investigator, and Court Officer.
Deeply committed to his community, Luc generously volunteered with the Special Olympics and the Children’s Wish Foundation, dedicating his time and energy to causes that uplifted and supported others.
He found joy in gardening, cooking, bowling, and spending time with family. He had a deep love for animals, and they returned that affection freely. His laughter, love for Friday movie nights, and the meals he so often prepared will be fondly remembered.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Karine Boulay for her compassionate care, as well as to the Extra-Mural team and Albert House staff for their unwavering support and kindness.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). At Luc’s request no visitation or funeral service will be held.

Luc will be remembered for his quiet strength, life of service, and the deep love he gave to his family.
Luc Charlebois joined the RCMP in circa 1974. Following recruit training at Depot Division, Regina, he was posted to New Brunswick where he served at multiple locations including Richibucto, Restigouche, Sussex, and Newcastle. He retired at the rank of Corporal on July 22, 2004.
