Charles MacDermid joined the RCMP in September 1961. Following recruit training, he was posted to southwestern Ontario. He served in multiple locations and units within “O” Division, including Immigration and Passport Section, and Toronto International Airport. He retired at the rank of Sergeant on July 4, 1983 and subsequently worked as an Investigator with the Investigative Services Division of the Toronto Stock Exchange. He served as President of the Whitestone/McKellar Lions Club in the 2010s.
