Len O’Halloran joined the RCMP in April 6, 1956. Folllowing recruit training, he was first posted to Chester, NS. In 1957, he was transferred to Chesterfield Inlet, NWT. Subsequent northern postings included Rankin Inlet and Eskimo Point. He was later posted to New Brunswick serving in Fredericton, Plaster Rock, St. George and Florenceville in 1976 where he served as Detachment Commander until his retirement at the rank of Sergeant on May 30, 1992. He was awarded a Commissioner’s Commendation for life-saving care afforded to an injured pilot and passengers of a crashed aircraft upon Hudson Bay in 1958.
