The President and Board of Directors of the RCMPVA cordially invite you to attend the Association’s 94th Annual General meeting on June 2, 2017 in The Holman Grand Hotel, 123 Grafton Street, Charlottetown, PEI.
Your attendance at this important business AGM is needed to discuss and make important decisions on the continued future of the Association.
The Association Council Meeting with the RCMP Chief Human Resource Officer, the Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs and guests, will be a round table discussion wherein you will be able to ask questions that are of interest to your members and all members of the Association. The RCMP CSM will be in attendance to discuss two-way communication with the RCMP-RCMPVA, the Generational and Territorial Pins, continuation of the Second Man Awards, and updating the RCMPVA Ensign and RCMP Guidon.
A further discussion will be held with the RCMP Liaison Officers for the Missing, Murdered and Indigenous Women’s Group that may impact on retired members being required to testify at the upcoming Inquiry.
President, Al Rivard, will be chairing a very important discussion in the afternoon session of the Association Council Meeting with the Presidents, Governors and MLD Trustees discussing other internal issues that will impact on the future direction of the Association.
There is no registration. At your earliest, RSVP to the Secretary, Alex Geddes at email: email@example.com. It is important to allow the organizing committee sufficient time to make the necessary arrangements for a “meet and greet on June 1”, and reception food and meals for the formal dinner.
During the all-day business meetings(Association Council Meeting and AGM), C.O. “L” Division, C/Supt. Joanne Crampton, will be hosting a C.O.’s Luncheon and the names of everyone attending will be required.
President Rivard is encouraging you to reserve your accommodations early by contacting the Holman Grand Hotel in Charlottetown, PEI no later than May 17 to guarantee the hotel rate, as rooms will be released to general public thereafter. Please follow the options for reserving your rooms from June 1 to 2. Hotel staff have confirmed they will guarantee the room rate if you plan to arrive earlier or stay beyond June 2 to tour beautiful Prince Edward Island.
WestJet Airlines is providing the RCMPVA a discount for travel to Charlottetown. For overall planning purposes, it is requested that you respond as soon as possible if you are attending or are unable to attend. If attending, indicate if you will be accompanied by your spouse/partner or attending on your own.
This AGM is primarily a business meeting with no spousal programs, however, we will be hosting a meet and greet, a reception and a sponsored formal dinner, and everyone is welcome to attend these functions. Space may be limited so we encourage everyone to confirm their attendance as earlier as possible, as this will assist us in planning the AGM.
The Secretary has been in contact with the Governors and MLD Trustees, but it would be appreciated everyone confirm once again if you are coming alone or attending with your spouse/partner. A further message will be sent to all members via Mail Chimp.
