Walt Charlton joined the RCMP on November 1, 1974. Following recruit training at Depot Division, Regina, SK, Walt was posted to British Columbia where he served at multiple locations including White Rock – General Duties; Unit A Freeway Patrol; Surrey Detachment – Frauds, Customs and Excise; Vancouver Detachment – Immigration and Passport. He retired from the Force on May 8, 2002 at the rank of Constable. Following his retirement, Walt served as Director, Special Investigations Branch, BC Ministry of Small Business and Revenue.
