John Wiebe joined the RCMP on June 13, 1953. Following recruit training, he was first posted to Ontario and served multiple locations including Sudbury and Ottawa attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He transferred into the Canadian Security Intelligence Service in July 1984 and remained with the Service until his retirement on October 31, 1986.
