On January 18, 2018, the RCMP announced the establishment of a new Auxiliary Program for volunteers.

The program was developed following extensive consultation with Auxiliaries, provincial, territorial and municipal partners and other stakeholders.

The new model will have three (3) tiers with incremental levels of engagement. Provinces and territories will be able to choose one or a combination of the tiers based on local needs and circumstances.

“The wellbeing of our volunteers is our priority. These changes will standardize and strengthen this important program, while permitting Auxiliaries to continue serving their communities safely. The RCMP will continue working closely with its divisions and provincial/territorial governments to administer the new program.”
